The grid above is the whole roster rather than a list of who is free tonight. Each of these women sets her own hours and her own limits, and each decides which bookings she accepts. What the grid cannot show is who has the evening clear for a journey out to the airport, which is why the reply to a first message names who is free rather than promising anyone in advance.

A journey that starts in the city

Nobody on the roster lives at the airport. Every visit to an airport hotel begins somewhere in Amsterdam, and the roster splits across four districts: eight women start from Oud-Zuid, six from the centre, five from the Jordaan and four from De Pijp. That is why the journey out is agreed in the thread for every airport address rather than quoted as a fixed window. Hotels in central Amsterdam are simpler: she is usually knocking forty to sixty minutes after the booking is confirmed.

Languages spoken in the room

English is on all twenty-three profiles. French appears on five, Russian, Spanish and Ukrainian on three each, Portuguese and Romanian on two, and Czech, Dutch, German, Italian and Lithuanian on one each. Six women speak three languages. At the end of a long flight a first language can be a relief, so each profile says which ones she speaks.

What a profile holds

Her age, which on this roster runs from twenty-one to thirty, her languages, the district she sets out from, the techniques on her page and photographs of her, published with her agreement. The rates table on every profile is the same, because the rate belongs to the booking rather than to the woman: for one guest with one therapist it climbs in steps from one hour to the full eight hour night. The other columns cover a couple and a second therapist.

Asking for someone by name

Put her name in the first line, with the hotel, the room and the hour. If she is free, the reply confirms it. If she is not, it says who is, rather than leaving the evening waiting.
