The long-stay apartment hotels near the airport have kitchens nobody cooks in and sofas nobody sits on, and Victoria tends to make use of the sofa before the guest does. She lives in Oud-Zuid, is twenty-eight, and speaks Ukrainian, Russian and English. Her sessions run slowly by nature, and she prefers ninety minutes or longer when a schedule allows it. A guest preparing for a difficult meeting in the morning usually gets less conversation from her rather than more. Getting out there is arranged in advance, and how long it takes is agreed first.
