The arrival window, and why the airport sits outside it

The arrival window is the standing time frame that applies inside the city: from a confirmed booking to a knock at the door, forty to sixty minutes, at any hour of the day or night. It covers Centrum, the Jordaan, De Pijp, Oud-Zuid, Zuidas and the rest of central Amsterdam.

Why the airport is different

Schiphol, Schiphol-Rijk and Schiphol-Oost sit outside that window. They are not far from the city, but the road out is less predictable than a journey across the canal ring, and there are fewer ways round a slow motorway or a closed slip road. So instead of a standing window, airport bookings run on arrangement. The house looks at the hour, the day and the conditions, and agrees a journey time with the guest in the thread before anything is fixed.

What that means in practice

• In the city, a guest can decide on the evening itself and expect a knock within the hour.
• At an airport hotel, a guest does better to settle the booking that afternoon or the day before, when there is room to agree a time that suits both sides.
• On a very late airport request, the answer may be a different hour or a different evening.

What does not change

The fee is identical in both places. The therapists are the same. The session is the same. The only difference is the clock that runs before the knock.
